![]() I am having problems accessing my NAS using DS File (I have posted on this). Provided you've already connected to the server that you want to view, you can create a shortcut on your Desktop to quickly access the files on the SMB server. When a Mac connects to another network using the SMB service, the network is shown in the Shared section of the Finder. To connect to a file server straight, use the Connect To Machine feature of the Finder. You can also access nearby file shares from Open up and Conserve home windows and bed sheets. To link to a Macintosh or Windows computer that will be sharing data files on your local network, appear under the Shared area of any Finder home window. If SMB is definitely not obtainable, it attempts to link using Apple company File Process (AFP). When you link from a Mac using OS Back button Mavericks or Operating-system Back button Yosemite to another personal computer using document sharing, your Mac automatically attempts to use the Program Message Block (SMB) protocol to connect. ![]() ![]() Windows computer systems and Apple computers can then see your computer on the nearby system. To enable File Spreading on your Macintosh, open up the Giving pane of Program Preferences and choose the choice for Document Sharing. ![]()
